Education is the foundation of progress in any country.Eduaction should prepare students to be effective participants in the workfield and so provide them with the needed prequisities of the market place. This is the main goal of Education. That is to prepare students and equip them with the skills of the 21st century, help them to be digital native and deal with Knoweldge Revolution.
Education should arm students tobe ready to face the challenge of the age and be ready to work and live in the new era.The success relies on mastering the 21st century skills. Learning in the 21st century builds the skills and knoweldge needed to work in a globally competitive workforce, work in teams, face career challenges, be digitally literate and be lifelong learner.
Education is a two-dimensional process. These two dimensions are teaching and learninmg.Education requires educators to adopt a different approach to the job they are doing in order to prepare students for work and life in the global community.
As teachers do not work alone, they should put in mind the ways in which students learn. It has become clear that students learn in differnet ways which derives teachers to look at classroom practice in different ways.It has been stated through research that there is no single way in which students learn.This influences the scenarios that take place in classrooms.Teachers have to consider all variables, knoweldge, theories, sources-----they are fcaing to determine on the theory they will turn into practice.
Students bring their individuality and unique personalities with the abilities and skills to class and it is the teacher’s job to handle all of these. Students learning is like information processing, teachers as computer technicians have to use different software (learning styles) to deal with data (knoweldge and information)
Teachers should take in consideration students’ prior knoweldge and try to engage it and build upon it to sail from where students are to the final destination. Teachers should deal with information as quality not quantity. That is to help students form deep understanding of real little amount of knoweldge is much better that dealing with huge amount just to cover it. That makes students able to organize knoweldge in an applicable way.
This move necessitates a move in the strategy students are assessed.End exam should disappear as they conradict with lifelong and ongoing learning.Students should be assessed through tasks , scenarios, projects, work sammples and other evidence that show their ability to apply knoweldgenot to store it.
